I received one new book last week called, What She Knew by Gilly MacMillan, courtesy of Wm Morrow.

After battling a bout of scarlet fever, which nearly took her life, Helena is determined to live her life. She goes to Paris to stay with her Aunt Agnes and attend an art school. Paris in the 1920's is very artistic and romantic.
I found this to be an easy read of a young woman who wants to gain her independence and falling in love with Sam in the meantime. I also liked the description of the restaurants and cuisine, which made it even better.
In moments she was seated, a hot brick under her feet, a rug on her lap, and a shawl about her shoulders, her parents deaf to her insistence that she was perfectly warm.
World War 11 has ended and the soldiers are coming home. After years of folling her crop worker father, motherless Claire Flanagan is also coming home. If she can keep her father in one place long enough, she plans to follow her dreams to Hollywood. Until she meets Benjamin.
