Aunty Lee's Delights by Ovidia Yu Post- Review
A murder mystery that is set in Singapore. Two of the victims having come in contact with Aunty Lee and her restaurant that is known for her culinary expertise, plunges Aunty Lee into the investigation of their demise.
I found this story to be very interesting once I got into it and kept on reading.I really didn't think I would like it. It has characters that kept the story going, especially the main one Aunty Lee.

My Thoughts:
P.J. Beaumont is getting his two knees replaced, when under the influence of drugs during the operation goes back to his days in Vietnam and a promise made to his buddy who got killed and is determined to fulfill it years later.
He is a man also determined while recuperating to solve an old cold murder case which is his first.
I found this book to be a page-turning an exciting and masterful story filled with detective work that keeps you intrigued from beginning to the end.

The Pursuit of Mary Bennet by Pamela Mingle Review-post
The Pursuit of Mary Bennet by Pamela Bennet Review-post
Unschooled in the game of love, Mary knows her heart and her future are are at risk. Is she worthy of romance or should she take the safer path? In her journey of self-acceptance, she discovers the answer.
My thoughts:
This is a delightful book that brought me back to the Bennet household and the lives of her married sisters whom I enjoyed so much in Pride & Prejudice. Mary, the shy one, believes she will never meet the love of her life and will have to accept the lonely life of a spinster. It is a story of ups and downs at this time in her life, plus the added problems of her family. Her older sisters try to help her along with the way she should dress and style her hair, so a certain gentleman would take notice. Mary always knew her own mind and always did the right thing even if it meant hurting herself by doing it.
I found it to be a truly refreshing novel which I enjoyed reading.

This week I received: The Last Of The Blacksmiths by Claire Gebben
Michael Harm is a farmer's son in the Bavarian Rhineland who dreams of excitement and freedom-the sort of life enjoyed by Uncas, the hero in his favorite novel, The Last Of The Mohicans. Every day Michael toils beside his brother in the vineyards wishing he could be a blacksmith, a singer, or an adventurer.
Also: The Girl With A Clock For A Heart by Peter Swanson
The Girl With A Clock or A Heart is a twisty, sexy, electric thrill ride and an absolute blast from start to finish.

Q:
Which is better (or preferred).... stories with multiple character points of view? Or stories that stick to just one or two at the most? and, why?
It depends on the story, sometimes I just prefer one or two at the most.

The Tilted World by Franklin & Fennelly Review- post
The Tilted World by Franklin & Fennelly Review- Post
The year is 1927, & this is the story of an unhappily married woman who dies a little every day & a noble yet solitary man who feels invisible. Of an orphaned baby, a troubled uncle, & a dangerous flapper, a loyal partner, a flood that will change a people and a nation.
My Thoughts:
I found this to be an exciting story set in the time of bootlegging, moonshine and a very dangerous flood. Dixie Clay is a strong character battling many obstacles and meeting a man, Ingersoll who should be her enemy, but ultimately becomes her friend and more. It is a well written book that holds your interest as things keep piling up for the characters. I found it to be an interesting read.
