Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday

My teaser today is from:

The Solitary House    by Lynn Shepherd

"Mr. Maddox. I was not aware we had arranged to meet today." "We hadn't."  "In that case, I assume you must have something both urgent and significant to impart. Something that-evidently-cannot even wait for a bath and a change of clothes." Pg. 125

  8. I wonder what is the urgency.....

Here's my teasers for this week: http://www.rulethewaves.net/blog/?p=4149

  11. It is good to see another new up-and-coming author from the UK, producing a great storyline and characters, as both the reviews it has received, the intriguing synopsis and your great teaser lines show.

I was a litle concerned that Lynn chose to genre her style of writing as 'Literary Murder' ... in some ways I think that this style is 'Murdering Literature'. The book has a great storyline of its own, as did her first book, so I am a little confused as to why authors should comment that a book has been inspired by a literary classic ... why not just publish the book and let the reader form an opinion about any analagy there may be with a classic book?

It hasn't stopped me adding this one to my wishlist, purely because I really like the sound of the storyline.

Enjoy the rest of your week,
