Project Runway

Finally, last night was the grand finale for the four designers to present their best collections. They nervously awaited their turn to present their designs. I thought Kimberly's was very pretty and marketable. Josh's were liked by the judges for his innovative and new ideas. Viktor's were appreciated by the judges but half of them were black and sheer and they felt it was two different collections in one. All in all they did a great job.

Yesterday's Daughter by Sally Lundy Review

Yesterday's Daughter by Sally Lundy Review

I found this to be an interesting read about a girl named Grace, who wasn't sure who she was after being alone and lonely for a long time. She never knew anything about her birth parents, until she meets Malachi, a vampire who claims to be her soulmate. He explains to her what she is and who her parents were. Although I think she had an inkling after having an appetite for human blood, which she readily obtained from her night time shift at the morgue. Malachi and Grace are immediately attracted to each other and thus begins the the challenges against the harvesters.I found it to be an intriguing page turner.

The matron apparantly had her disabled son chained up in a basement, after escaping he killed his mother and was captured and hung on a tree outside. Meredith did catch some voices that Jason and Grant did not hear, but was captured on their equipment. She was somewhat nervous in the beginning, but then got into it.

What's the hardest/most challenging book you've ever read? Was it worth the effort? did you read it by choice or was it an assignment/obligation?

The most challenging book I've ever read was as a young girl, Little Women. I was not into reading at that time . The book was a gift and I felt obligated to read it. Now I can appreciate it.

Buster- The Shih-tzu-pup

On Saturday we decided to take Buster on the 5k walk benefit in our town. Thinking he might tire out after awhile I was a little skeptical about it. Well he proved me wrong and went at a fierce pace through-out the 3.1 mile walk. He was the smallest dog in it and we came in last at 1 hour and 4 seconds. Yes, we finished the walk and I am very proud of him.Pretty good for a 9 month old puppy.

Dancing With The Stars- 10-24-11 Show

Dancing With The Stars

Last night Ricki and JR stole the dance floor with their quick step. They are pretty much neck and neck to win. The judges didn't like Hope and Mak's routine and he quickly added what he thought to the surprised judges. They are calling it Maks Gate today. Nancy Grace's acrobatic routine in the group might save her this week, it could be her (pardon the pun) saving Grace. Stay tuned as another star leaves the show.

The Ides of March- Movie

The Ides of March

This movie was a political drama about powerful men and what goes on behind the scenes . George Clooney, who by the way, is one of my favorite actors, plays the candidate who is on his way to the presidency. His charm and elegance is there, but his campaign becomes threatened when an indescretion with an intern is discovered by one of his top aides. Ryan Gosling, who plays the aide learns a lot about himself and a hard lesson in loyalty. It is a good movie about the insightful world of politics.

On last night's show, the four designers were visited by Tim in their hometowns. Viktor and Joshua were from New York, Anya from Trinidad and Kim from Maryland. Viktor was far ahead of everyone in his designing . Very surprising was that Anya did not have any designs to show Tim except for the material she had chosen, he then laid it on the line to her to get a move on, that time was running out.Kim had done a few designs that weren't too bad and Josh had nothing to impress Tim with at all. All four were chosen for fashion week, with harsh criticism by the judges. Stay tuned.

Ghost Hunters

Last night on Ghost Hunters, the team , along with Jason's daughter, investigated the Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls, N.Y. This was the last investigation his daughter would be on before going back to school. It seem there were claims of a ghostly actress in the theatre. They did hear female voices and even saw a figure which was captured on camera of a figure crossing an area by a door. The place had an eerie look to it and to the team an eerie feeling too. Can't wait for their Halloween show.

Gossip Girl-TV Series

Gossip Girl TV- Series

When I watched Gossip Girl I thought of it as a glamorized soap-opera. It is a series based on the book series of the same name. The show is filmed in New York and has all the glitz and glamor of the wealthy lifestyle . It revolves around these privileged young adults and the lives they are living. Now, I did find the clothes very interesting but other than that it really had no appeal, but that is my humble opinion.

This book is not my genre of book, but thought I would delve into it and see what it was all about. I haven't read the other books in the series ,so I would have to go by this one. It was a captivating, thrilling and frightening adventure into the world of vicious vampires. It is definitely a page turner, as the world is now on the brink of nuclear annihilation.Mankind is depending on the freedom fighters and the humans that remain who are under the control of a vicious vampire called The Master, whose powers are beyond belief. It is truly a terrifying read that will keep you spellbound.

Rachel Zoe - TV Reality Show

I started to watch this reality show a few weeks back as I thought that I would see what it was all about. I heard of Rachel Zoe before , knowing she is a clothes designer from California. Entering her world of money, expensive cars, beautiful clothes and magnificent homes, intrigued me.I guess it was because it was the opposite of my way of living. She became pregnant at the age of 43 and was lucky to have the stamina to keep the steady pace of attending fashion shows, dressing stars for many events and designing. She never skipped a beat, with the help of her loyal staff. She delivered her baby on last night's show, a baby boy. I hope the baby brings much happiness to her life and a more steady pace. Stay tuned.

Dancing With The Stars

Last night's show had an 80's theme, but it seemed like the music didn't match -up to the different dance routines. It was hard seeing if it was a waltz, salsa, jive or whatever dance they were trying to perform., but that is how I saw it. The Walking Dead- Tv series

The Walking Dead - TV Series

I was a first time viewer of the series Walking Dead yesterday. I heard so much about it, so I got caught up during the first season marathon, that they had on. To tell you the truth I am not into zombies and didn't think I would like it, but I gave it a chance. It did remind me of Lost in a way, as they were trying to survive a hopeless situation. I did get interested in the storyline and watched the first show of the second season. I guess you have to give something a try before you make a decision on it. I have to say that it is not for every one, there's a lot of gory scenes in it and definitely not for the faint of heart.

Footloose- Movie

Footloose- The Movie

This week-end I went to see Footloose, and I have to say that I was very much entertained with the dancing. There was a story to the film which was some what a little way out there, about a new boy from the city and a preacher's daughter. Since the preacher's son was killed in an auto accident along with three others after a night of drinking and improper dancing, the town didn't allow that any more. The new boy in town saves the day with his petition and gets the people to think differently. Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormad's dancing scenes was worth the price of admission.

Project Runway

Last night on Project Runway the winning designers were Anya, Joshua, Kimberly, and Viktor. The fourth designer, Kimberly was chosen to do a line to see how it would fare. The one I thought stood out was Anya's which was very chic and beautiful. It seems like she stood out right from the beginning. I will be anxious to see what they all come up with for fashion week. The Hunger Games - By Suzanne Collins - Review

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins Review

I found this book to be more of an an adventure than I thought it would be.Katniss Everdeen, a sixteen year old girl who goes to participate in the annual Hunger Games in her younger sister's place, proves to be a true warrior having to fight maybe even to her own death. The nation of Panem, with 12 outlying districts is a place once known as North America. She is from the 12th. district, considered to be the lowest. She finds love during the fight to the death competition, as she teams up with Peeta, a boy from her district, who once gave her a loaf of bread when her family was starving. If she survives and is the last one standing , she will earn a better life, for her and her family. This drives her on when things get really bad and desperation sets in. It is an exciting book that I couldn't put down and I am looking forward to book two in this series.
