Wonderous Word Wednesday

Wonderous Word Wednesday

In nautical context. The location of the steering wheel of a boat or ship.

2. Modicum-
A small or moderate token amount.

From the book- The Matchmaker of Kenare by Frank Delaney

  1. Nice finds. My mom used to use modicum when I was young, as in, "I don't have a modicum of interest in what the other kids are allowed to do!" Thanks for bringing that little memory back :-)

  2. I can't say I ever used either of these words in a conversation. But I like the way Col's mom used the word modicum. My sorry answer to my kids was. "But I am not their mother, I am your mother.

  3. Great words. Thanks for sharing! If you get a chance, my words are here.

  4. I've heard modicum before, but wheelhouse is a new one to me. I guess I need to get out on a boat more often!

  5. Col Reads- Oh! you're welcome, glad the word brought back memories.

    GiGiAnn- Good one.

    Julie- Glad you came by.

    Bermudaonion- Me too!
