Wondrous Words Wednesday

Here are two interesting words.

Limoncello-is an Italian lemon liquer mainly produced in Southern Italy.

Goombas- known in Japan as Kuribo, a species of sentient mushrooms.

  3. Hi Mary Ann,

    Limoncello is a complimentary end to a meal in most good Italian restaurants, although I have to say that I don't drink a lot of liquor and I find it a bit too sweet for my taste - I would much rather have a shot of sambuca :)

    I had never heard of Goomba or Kuribo, neither had I come across sentient before, so I decided to investigate further. When I read the definition for sentient I was even more confused, until I realised that the other two items were gaming characters, shaped like mushrooms! I'm not a technophobe by any means, but neither am I into gaming of any description, so I am going to plead my case for not knowing about these creatures!
