Wondrous Words Wednesday

Wondrous Words Wednesday

Two words today from different sources.

Sambue- A chair-like affair perched on the horse's hind quarters.

Rockwellian-  Relating to Norman Rockwell known for his idealistic, quaint or sentimental portrayals of  American life.

  1. Hi Mary Ann,

Two excellent words today, neither of which I know of, although I am probably much more interested in the sambue.

I am well used to images of middle and upper class horsewomen riding 'side saddle', although I had no idea what the perching chair was called ...

... As I am definitely not a big horse person, although I do enjoy watching the show jumping on TV.

Thanks for sharing and 'Happy Reading' :)

  2. Those are new to me but Rockwellian makes total sense.

  3. Interesting entries! Can't imagine a chair on the back of a horse.
