Wondrous Words Wednesday

Wondrous words Wednesday

My words today are taken from a book that I am currently reading: Post War Dreams by Brenda Whiteside.

Desiccated- lacking interest, passion or energy.

Pellucid- translucently clear.
ex.
mountains reflected in the pellucid waters.

  1. Hi Mary Ann,

Whilst I might be tempted to read this book in the future, I have to admit, it isn't one I shall be rushing to add to my list just yet.

However, it does seem to have thrown up a few good new words for you and although I already knew of desiccated, that was only in relation to the desiccated coconut as used in baking and not for the definition of the word as used in the context of your story.

Pellucid is completely new to me, athough once again I did know of lucid, which obviously links the words in some way. It would be good to use pellucid, rather than lucid, next time the need arises, just to see what kind of reaction I get!

Thanks for sharing, nice words :)

    Yvonne
