Wondrous Words Wednesday

Wondrous Words Wednesday

Here are a few words that I came across, hope that you find them interesting.

Ribald- coarsely, crudely humorous.

While some giggled at the ribald joke involving a person's daughter, most sighed and rolled their eyes.

Adumbrate- to sketch in a vague way.

The coach adumbrated a game plan, but none of the players knew precisely what to do.

  1. I've heard ribald before but adumbrate is new to me. Adumbrate doesn't roll off of my tongue.

  2. Adumbrate is new to me too. I like the use of it here in the sentence.

  3. Both of those words are new to me. I hope that I have a chance to use adumbrate in a sentence one day.

    Happy Reading

  4. Can't believe it. I've never seen the word "adumbrate." I would like to read Jane Green' Saving Grace. The synopsis seems interesting.
