Wondrous Words Wednesday

Wondrous Words Wednesday

My words today are taken from the book I am currently reading:  Land Of Dreams  by Kate Kerrigan

1. Pied-a'-terre- is a small living unit usually located in a large city some distance away from an individual's private residence.

2. Eschewed- having nothing to do with , steer clear of.

3. Predilections- a preference or special liking for something.

  1. I wouldn't mind a pied a terre not sure what I'd use it for though :) I thought eschewed had a different meaning, well, what do you know? I don't use it so hopefully I haven't got that one wrong in a sentence.

  2. I'm familiar with Pied-a'-terre because I'm a House Hunters addict and have watched it since it started in 1999, as well as House Hunters International (where I first heard the word) and all the other spin offs since they started.

The other two are new to me.

  3. I always thought a pied-a-terre was just a small, rustic apartment. I'm sure I'll never own one!

  4. Pied-a-terre is new to me. Never even heard of it, but I like the idea.
