Wondrous Words Wednesday

Wondrous Words Wednesday

My words today are taken from the book: Color Song by Victoria Strauss

1. Idolisation- The act of admiring strongly.

2. Billet- to lodge(soldier) in a particular place especially a civilian house or other non-military facility.

  2. I knew idolisation, but don't remember where I've heard it. I also knew billet from listening to family members talk about their time in the service.

  4. Billet is one I've come across in reading but rarely in everyday life.

  5. Billet . . . makes me think of the American Revolution . . one of the colonists' issues was being asked to billet British soldiers in their homes. Not a word I hear very often, though!

  6. Wondrous word everyday should start. Per day wondrous 2 words with explanation. We are so busy with our daily life so sometimes this type of effort helps us to learn our needed vocabulary.
