Wondrous Words Wednesday

Wondrous Words Wednesday

My words today are taken from a book I am currently reading, called The Last Refuge.

1. proselytize- convert or attempt to convert (someone) from one religion, belief or opinion to another.

2. puffins- these are pelagic (relating to the open sea) birds that feed primarily by diving in the water.

3. abseiling- from the German word (abseilen) "to rope down". A controlled descent down a rock face.

  1. Hi Mary Ann,

Yay! I knew all of your words this week, you can't imagine how good I feel now, after some of my own words this week were instantly recognizable to everyone except myself!

The Atlantic Puffin is no stranger to the shores and coastline of much of mainland Britain, although even these hardy little birds are not resilient enough to withstand the good old British winter!

As I suffer from acrophobia, or fear of heights, you certainly won't find me abseiling anywhere, anytime soon! The closest I came was on a field trip when I was at Secondary school and I seem to recall having to be 'rescued' and helped down by teachers, when I realised that I could no longer move to go either up or down ... I was literally petrified with fear!

Some great words this week and I hope that you are enjoying 'The Last Refuge' .. It is already on my TBR list.

  2. Hi Yvonne,
The puffin is a really cute bird, so glad you knew my words.

  3. There is a puffin cam where you can watch puffins and it is completely addictive!
