Wondrous Words

Wondrous Words

Here are my words for today:

provenance- where something originated or was nurtured in its early existence.

nascent- being born or beginning.

lope- a slow pace of running.

  1. I've heard nascent and understand its meaning but I'm not sure I could use it correctly.

  2. I'm familiar with all of these. As an armchair historian, I've loved "provenance" since the first time I heard it.

  3. Lope was the only one I knew for sure. The other two looked familiar but I didn't know their meanings.

  4. Hi Mary Ann,

I know of lope and provenance and if seen in a sentence, could probably have worked out what nascent means, although I wouldn't have been able to articulate its definition if asked.

An interesting selection this week, thanks for sharing,

    Yvonne
