I received Cherokee Talisman By David-Michael Harding for review this week, what did you get?

An orphan boy, Totsuhwa, is taken under the wing of legendary Cherokee war chief Tsi Yugunsini the dragon. But even under a dragon's wing isn't safe when a conetous nation forms around them.

  1. This one sounds good. I haven't encountered too many books based on American Indians.

  2. Hi Mary Ann,

Someone else received this book for review last week and at the time I commented that I didn't think it would be something I would enjoy.

Re-visiting the synopsis though, I have decided to add it to my list. I have read books about the native South African population during the times of Apartheid and I have an author request coming up which deals with the Aborigine tribes in Australia, so a book about the native American Indians would be quite an interesting comparison.

The book has also received some rave reviews, so I hope that you enjoy it as much as others have done.

    Have a good week, Yvonne

  3. Native Americans, and their stories, are so interesting to me! I love that I'm able to teach a little about their history in my classroom, but it isn't like reading the real deal as this book would be!
