Ted asks:

Are there any fictional characters whom you have emulated (or tried to)? Who and why?
I never really emulated any fictional characters but admired what they did in the storyline.

Bookish Sarah asks an interesting assortment of questions:
What literary character do you feel is most like you personality-wise (explain)?
There isn't just one character I could say offhand. Just some traits I see in different ones.

Q:  What is the longest book you've read? What are your favorite 600+ page reads?

The longest book I've read is probably Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak, 594 Pgs.

If you count book series, I would say, Harry Potter and The Hunger Games, a long story in small doses.

Project Runway All Stars

He seemed to be taking it out a little bit on Austin. Just when things were running smoothly, they were told they had to design a sixth piece from the material that was left over from the other challenges. I guess another week will go by before we see who the winner will be, stay tuned.

Q:  What is the best book You've read in the last month?

She Wore Only White is a book I just finished reading, it wasn't the best book, but it did hold my interest.

What is the worst book you've read in the last month?

Not the worst but the least favorite was History Of A Pleasure Seeker.

She Wore Only White by Dorthe Binkert Post - Review

She Wore Only White   by Dorthe Binkert       Post- Review

This story takes place on the S.S. Kroonland that sets sail for Ellis Island, during the very early 1900's. It explores the lives of a small group of first-class passengers and especially the stowaway who is the lady in white. She comes on board with nothing but the dress she has on and intrigues everyone on board the ship. Her's is the story of a heartbreaking marriage that has left her wanting to run away. It is an interesting tale of how the troubles of the other passengers become intertwined along the journey. I found that it truly explored the recesses of the human heart and was fascinated on how her journey would end.

Ted asks:
Have you ever used a book to instruct someone of something or is there anyone for whom you would like to do that? ( I don't mean a text book for a class, but a work of fiction or non-fiction that would get a certain message across either through plot or character). What is the book and what do you wish to impact?
The only book that comes to mind is a popular cook book, which I had given to my niece at her bridal shower. It gave her the confidence and instruction to cook great meals.

Q:  Have you ever looked at book's cover and thought, this is going to be horrible? but, was instead pleasantly surprised? Show us the cover and tell us about the book.

For me again, it was the Hunger Games, when I saw the cover, I definitely thought this was not for me. I got really interested and read the whole series and now anxiously awaiting the movie, which soon will be coming out.

The story is set in the future where the heroine, Katniss has to fight to the death on live television. The Capitol selects a boy and a girl from each of the 12 districts and she volunteers. It's a captivating journey.

The Unruly Passions Of Eugenie R. by Carole De Santi Post - Review

The Unruly Passions of Eugenie R.   by Carole De Santi      Post - Review

This is a story of a young French girl in the era between (1860-1871). It was a time filled with prostitution and social upheaval. She falls in love with a man from her country and follows him to Paris, but soon finds out he never shows up and finds herself alone and abandoned. To support herself, she falls into prostitution, gives birth to a daughter, which she eventually has to abandon. Drawn into a trap of need , lies and promises, she must make a decision and find a way into a life she can call her own.It was an interesting book of that period in time, which depicted her many hardships.

The Lorax The Movie

The Lorax   The Movie

Over the week-end, my daughter and I took my niece's two boys to see The Lorax. I didn't recall this book of Dr. Suess's at all and had no idea about the film version. It moved along very well and captured their attention as they waited for the Lorax to appear. He was an orange ball of fur with a mustache, a sort of cute character. He was the keeper of the trees and had a point about saving them for future generations. We all enjoyed it and walked out happy about seeing it.

Project Runway All Stars

Project Runway All Stars

On last night's challenge , the designers had to design a dress using lights. It was difficult for them
since they never did this before. The gave them a dark room so that they could see how the lighting looked with the fabric they were using. Some of the designs looked like something in outer space and very futuristic. I have to say Austin's was very pretty and heaven like, very nice. He ended up winning and rightly so. Jerell was let go after his ethnic tribal design. Stay tuned.
