History Of A Pleasure Seeker By Richard Mason Post - Review

History Of A Pleasure Seeker by Richard Mason Post- Review

Summary

An opulent, romantic novel, set at the height of Europe's belle epoque, about a handsome young man in his mid-twenties-a golden boy who secures a position as a tutor in the household of one of the most prominent bourgeois families in Amsterdam-and his entry into a world of moneyed glamour and dangerous temptations.

My opinion:

Piet, a young man from Amsterdam takes a job in a wealthy household as a tutor. He loves the luxuries of their life and coming from a poor background tries to enjoy it all. It is a story filled with sensuality and graphically described and well written. It also takes place at the turn of the last century and moves to N.Y. at the time of the stock market crash. It is interesting to see him survive as he eventually leaves his employer to go off on his own and boards an oceanliner bound for Cape Town, Africa. He is an individual seeking all of life's pleasures.

Mila 's dress lost and she was sent home.

The Walking Dead - TV Series

The Walking Dead - TV Series

I started to watch this series, which had a lot of hype last year about the undead. Although not a big fan of "zombies", I did find it intriguing and strangely addictive. This season finds the survivors not only fighting for their lives with the undead but with the living also. Some of them are being manipulated to kill the living for those that they love. Give it a try, you might find it interesting.

Celebrity Apprentice

Celebrity Apprentice

Last night's show had the new apprentices selling sandwiches which they created themselves. The winner's team leader would get the money for her charity. Patricia Velasquez, the women's team leader tried to contact as many people she knew, but came up short. The men won due to the team's leader having a person donating a huge amount of money, that put them over the top. Cheryl Tiegs was fired because she didn't fit in with their strong personalities.

Ghost Hunters, TAPS

Last night on Ghost Hunters the team investigated City Hall in Providence Rhode Island and debunked a few of the mysterious things that went on there, such as a chair spinning around by itself and sounds in a high stairwell probably due to some kind of bird. They also were called to a historic house in Farmington, N.Y. where strange things were happening and a baby was seen by the owners grandson.
But the big surprise at the end of the show was that Grant was leaving the show due to personal reasons. This announcement brought tears and sadness to the team, who were sorry to see him go.

I saw this movie the other night and really enjoyed it. It is a fascinating true story that captured the hearts of the whole world almost 25 years ago. It's the story of three gray whales that were stranded by encroaching sea ice off the coast of Alaska. The fight to save these whales was incredible as everyone did their utmost to do so. It is a heart tugging story that both a child and an adult would love.It is worth the price of admission.

The Woman In Black - The Movie - post

The Woman In Black The Movie - post

I was anxiously awaiting to see this movie with Daniel Radcliffe , for it would be a perfect match for me , I enjoy his acting and ghost stories. The scenery was creepy as it is set in the early 20th century and in a remote village in London. He is sent there on his job as a lawyer to gather information on the affairs of a recently deceased client. The creepiness of the clients house and the lady in black who haunts it is chilling at times. I was also waiting for the big twist in the story which never came, but it was scary without being gory or vulgar.
