Q: Do you mind books with similar ideas to other books? Similar concepts backgrounds, retellings or pulled-to-publish fanfic?
I don't mind books with similar ideas/concepts as long as the author makes it their own story. If a book captures my attention, I'm all for it.What do you think?
I totally agree. :) Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

I like your answer. I think some things are definitely overdone, but if an author "makes it their own" or basically tells a good story, that's what matters.

I agree - I usually don't mind as long as there is some originality - something different, even if the books are a similar concept.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. As long as there's some originality, I'm totally fine with ideas being recycled.

It's the "as long as the author makes it their own story" part that some authors have stumbled on in my opinion. Great point though! Thanks for stopping at my blog, I'm following you back :D
ReplyDeleteI think there's an amount that acceptable and a point where it crosses the line. Republished fanfiction is a no-no for me.
