Wondrous Words Wednesday
My words today are taken from a book I just finished reading, so I thought I would share them with you.
1. misogynist- A person who hates, dislikes, mistrusts, or mistreats women.
2. hypothetical- Of, relating to.
3. parabolic- dish or mirror, a reflective device used to collect or project energy such as light, sound or radio waves.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI knew your first couple of words and although I have heard of 'parabolic', I was unsure as to its exact definition, so thanks for sharing that one with me.
Yvonne
Parabolic sounds like a great word to use in a metaphor or description, say, to describe someone's mind and how they collect information and then beam it back, concentrated and more powerful.
ReplyDeleteI know misogynist but sure do have trouble pronouncing it.
ReplyDeleteGreat words. I did not know parabolic and was way off on what I thought it meant.
ReplyDeleteYay. I knew all your words today. A rare achievement for me. Although parabolic doesn't come up all that much in my day to day life.
ReplyDeleteFiction-books- Oh! you're welcome.
ReplyDeletePhilip Tucker- Good point.
bermudaonion- I don't like what it means.
Beachreader- Glad you liked it.
Louise- You're so right.
