Wondrous Words Wednesday
Different words for love mentioned in the Bible:
1. Agape - unconditional love, God for mankind.
2. Storge - love that grows between family members.
3. Eros - A special intimate love between just two people for life; not to be shared.

I love this post! I knew agape but the other two are new to me.
ReplyDeleteI knew agape and eros from Sunday School lessons, but apparently they missed "storge". I was taught to pronounce agape as three syllables with the final e pronounced as "ay". Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary Ann,
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about 'storge' and the only definition I knew for 'agape' is .... "In a state of wonder or amazement, as with the mouth wide open."
I obviously didn't listen too well in Sunday School lessons, but then it was a very long time ago and I am not a particularly religious person now.
Thanks for a great post,
Yvonne
I didn't know storge! Interesting. :)
ReplyDeleteLike everyone I haven't heard of storge before- it looked like storage misspelt to me. I knew the mouth open agape, but not this usage.
