Wondrous Words Wednesday

Wondrous Words Wednesday

My words today are taken from the book: The Bookie's Son  by Andrew Goldstein

1. alchemize- to alter, to transform by or as if by alchemy.

2. piker- A person who does anything in a small cheap way, stingy.

3. Halakah- The path one walks. Jewish law. The complete body of rules and practices that Jews are bound to follow.

  2. I've heard piker plenty of times before. Maybe it's a southern thing? Thanks for participating!

  3. I only knew piker, but in Australia we would use it to mean someone who pulls out of something. "Don't be a piker!" Although that works for either usage I guess.
