This the second novel about the adventures of the O'Malley sisters, Sally and Troo. It proves to be interesting in what they get themselves into and how they try to judge the people in their town.Since I haven't read the first book about them, I have to say I think I might do that. It begins with the death of their father and the escape from a murderer and molester the previous summer. Sally whose real father Dave lives with them now and intends to marry their mother as soon as they obtain an annulment.Sally's sister Troo gets herself into situations so she watches her constantly because she promised her father on his deathbed that she would. As they begin to find out something big, Troo conjures up a plan to confront the perpetrator. They find themselves covering their tracks as it goes down. It's an intriguing story of these two young girls, who find themselves with more than they bargained for.

All in all:

An interesting and a fun read filled with events that led them to a uneventful circumstance.

Project Runway- 8-25-11 show

Project Runway

Last night's show began with Cecilia telling Tim and Heidi that she wants to leave the show, she just didn't want to be there, she wasn't comfortable.Joshua , one of the designers who was voted off came back to replace her. They chose 4 captains from a race they had them run in an armory. Oliver fell and hurt his knee, but still ran the race anyway. Each captain had 3 designers on his team. They were designing active wear to be worn with sneakers. There were only a few designs that were really likeable.
Viktor's was one of them and he was the winner in my opinion. Danielle had to leave, they didn't like the green blouse that she designed.
There was a lot of bickering going on by two of the teams and I think there is more to come.

Damages TV Series

Last night I finished watching the first season of Damages. The show keeps you in suspense until the end, it is well written. A lot of loose ends were revealed and a very surprising ending. Patty played by Meryl Streep is amazing as a ruthless lawyer and is a bit scary if you had any dealings with her. A lot of people died during this case and we found out who was behind the murders. Ellen , the young lawyer, who lost her fiancee', means to get even with Patty. She believes that she tried to have her killed and is out for revenge. Can't wait to start season two.

Buster continues to make new friends on the trail in the park everyday. He can't wait to exit the car when he knows he's arrived, he gets really exited. I am amazed at how he wants to play and go up to the largest dog. When the weather doesn't cooperate, like today, you can tell he really misses his daily routine of exercise. I hate to see the winter coming, it is pretty rough here in the Northeast.

The Help - The Movie

The Help - The Movie

I went to see The Help, over the week-end and loved it. It was better than I thought it would be, having not read the book as of yet, but heard a lot about it. These women who were abused and often scared to even use the bathroom in the house they were working in ,to me they were brave souls to come out and speak about it during that time.Skeeter, who was the writer of the book really understood their plight ,having had a maid herself growing up. The strength and endurance they had after working all day and then going home to their families, often having to walk if they missed their bus.The movie was well done and you felt both sadness and admiration for them. It's worth seeing.

Last night's show proved very challenging as they had to design for Nina Garcia, who is a fashion director for Marie Claire magazine. She made known to them the style she prefers,"classic with an edge." The winner would be a featured add on cabs around NYC.A lot of the designs I didn't like except for a black two-piece dress by Viktor. In the end Kimberly was the winner, she designed a gold shirt and black pants, that Nina thought could be transformed from day to night. I thought the shirt was a little snug. Called Home by Gloria Schumann- Review & Giveaway

Called Home by Gloria Schumann Review & Giveaway

When I first read the title of this book, I thought it was going to be about someone who died, but found it is a story of Emma , who was called home to help her mother, who was left a widow after her father's death. It wasn't easy for her to go back to the farm after she made her life elsewhere. She was dealing with the tragedies in her own life and wanted to get past it. Until David , who was also back in town, takes a strong liking to her and she does not approve of his advances at all. Her trust is really shattered after the man she was going to marry destroyed it. But being persistant in persuing what you want sometimes wins out. They faced together some deliberate damages done to their property by someone who was after them. I found it to be a really nice love story, that by helping each other, adversities in their lives could be conquered.

All in all:
A very nice read that moves you from page to page.

Last night 's show was quite unique as the designers had to design for stilt models. They were paired up to do the challenge and some got along better than others. They didn't want anything too much like a costume, so four groups of the designers were on the bottom to be voted off. Only one person was going , so the pressure was on.They did the show in front of a live audience outside. This proved to be more nerve racking for the designers. The winning designer was Laura and the one going home was Fallene.

Project Runway- Tv Show

Project Runway

I love to watch Project Runway with my daughter to see what challenges they have to get through in designing that week. The pressure was on when they brought the designers to the pet store and told them to buy whatever they needed to make an outfit from the materials in the store. It was very funny seeing them pasting bird seed to the material and trying to make it stay put, They came up with some pretty interesting ideas, from ripping apart a pet bed and making a top to making an out-fit from the pee-pee pads. I have to say, I don"t know how they accomplish their task in the time frame given to them.

Robopocalypse By Daniel H. Wilson Review & Giveaway

This book to me was a futuristic and fascinating read, that will peak your interest from the beginning to the end. As the artificial intelligence Archos comes to power as he kills the man who created him. This overwhelming power takes over humanity and everything that rules our lives. It is intriguing how these robots can overtake their human friends. Archos believes humans have reached their pinnacle of their species and have created their successor. They believe that they were designed to live and we are meant to kill. And as these machines try to overtake us, we have to survive. As humans go to war their purpose is to stop these machines.

And were you excited about it in advance?

Well, I love historical fiction so the book The Boleyn Inheritance by Phillippi Gregory is one I am interested in reading.

Ghost Hunters International

The GHI team was investigating a castle in London with a dungeon inside of it. They brought many devices and stationery cameras with them ,and set them up in the rooms. The most unsettling discovery was the finding of many boxes in one of the rooms of shackles which were used to restrain prisoners and the gruesome discovery of lots of human bones and a human jaw with teeth. They also felt like something was touching them and footsteps. A very eerie place.
