Wondrous words Wednesday

Wondrous Words Wednesday

hackneyed- lacking significance through having been overused.

fulsome- unpleasantly and excessively suave or ingratiating in manner.

quixotic- not sensible about practical matters.

Words from Pride & Predjudice

  1. Oh, I've met some fulsome guys in my day. That's a great word - hopefully I can remember it.

  2. Good words! thanks for stopping over at my post!

  3. Hi Mary Ann,

Some great classical words this week, from a legend of a book.

Is it possible to use all three terms to describe the one single man do you think? I can think of several candidates off the top of my head!!!

None of the words were new to me, but I just love the word 'hackneyed'

  4. I haven't read a Coulter book in years! Love the cover of this one.

  5. Quixotic is one of my favorite words. I believe it is derived from Don Quixote. I used to love this word when I was angsty teenager writing bad poetry :)

  6. I love Pride and Prejudice although I don't remember those new words.

  7. Bermudaonion- Me too!

    Peggy- Glad you came by.

Julie, fiction books- thanks! for commenting.

    June G- Thanks!

Margot- It's a great favorite of mine.
