I love borborygm! We have lots of instances around this house to use that word! Thanks for stopping by my place!http://peggyannspost.blogspot.com/2011/09/wondrous-words-wednesday.html
Borborygm! Awesome. I'm experiencing that right now as I wait oh so patiently for my lunch break! I love it! Thanks for sharing. If you get a chance, my words are here.
Funny wrds ! We have the same in French "borborygme" but the second one is all new to me !
Those are both funny words! My tummy's rumbling now, too. Especially since I was just reading about rout cakes.
I wish I could figure out how to pronounce borborygm so I could use it tonight. Is 100 Funniest Words in English a book? It sounds like a lot of fun.
Two wonderful words there. Borborygmi is a more familiar usage to me (it is the plural, and after all tummy rumblings are rarely singular). Kathy you would say that bor-bor-ig-me (well that's an Australian pronunciation, not quite sure how Americans would say it). Interesting that it is pretty much the same in French. Gazump is a word that has been in reasonably common usage in Australia.
Peggy- You too!Julie, Annie- Glad you came by.Joy Weese Moll- love it!Bermudaonion- That word is hard to pronounce, it is a book by Robert Beard.
Louise- Thanks! for commenting on these words.
