Maybe I've been really lucky, but neither of my daughters has suggested reading something I thought was completely inappropriate. I have definitely counseled for or against the ideas in certain titles, but they've always been able to have the final say.
I agree I don't think I want my youngin's to read the claiming of sleeping beauty by anne rice too young. That doesn't mean someday they can't.
I think it's up to the parents to decide for their own children. I got lucky with my parents they never tried to prevent me from reading anything when I was growing up.Sally.http://theelifylop.blogspot.com/2011/05/booking-through-thursday-18.html
I agree! It should be up to the parents to decide. Here's Mine
I try to list my recent book as "adult" whenever possible, because of elements that are in it. It is certainly not meant for kids, and you bring up a good point. I have a lot to say, and this book is the foundation of that. I try to make it entertaining.
I agree, some books are definitely not appropriate for young children.
I think this is a personal decision that each family has to tackle on their own.
