Booking Through Thursday

Booking Through Thursday

What do you think of censoring books because of their intended age? Say, books too"old" for your kids to read?

Depending on how young, certain adult books should be off limits.

  1. Maybe I've been really lucky, but neither of my daughters has suggested reading something I thought was completely inappropriate. I have definitely counseled for or against the ideas in certain titles, but they've always been able to have the final say.

  2. I agree I don't think I want my youngin's to read the claiming of sleeping beauty by anne rice too young. That doesn't mean someday they can't.

  3. I think it's up to the parents to decide for their own children. I got lucky with my parents they never tried to prevent me from reading anything when I was growing up.

  5. I try to list my recent book as "adult" whenever possible, because of elements that are in it. It is certainly not meant for kids, and you bring up a good point. I have a lot to say, and this book is the foundation of that. I try to make it entertaining.

  7. I think this is a personal decision that each family has to tackle on their own.
