Booking Through Thursday

CAN you judge a book by its cover?

***

The cover gives me an overall feel for the personality of a book at first glance. However sometimes a book can have a beautiful cover and be a terrible read or it can have a boring cover and be a terrific read. Yet I think 9 times out of 10 - a great cover usually predicts a great book.

  1. I see what your are saying but I would disagree. I have seen and read some books with some pretty ugly covers and I would find them to be 5 out 5 very good.

  2. I just don't think you can judge a book by it's cover. Some can be really misleading.

  3. I agree, a lot of times the quality of the cover matches the quality of the book.
Not always, but enough of the time to convince me my method of picking out books is ok, haha. (:

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  4. I don't think it's a good idea to judge a book by its cover. But I'm afraid I'm frequently guilty of doing just that! I know a lovely cover doesn't guarantee a great read inside, but sometimes I just can't help myself.

  5. I'm inclined to agree although I can't help but wonder how many times I've given a book a chance or tried to like it because I loved the cover whereas if it had an ugly cover and I wasn't enjoying it, I would immediately put it down. But sometimes I think to myself, what a lovely cover, the story must get better, I'll keep reading!
